If you have a train to catch in the near future, you might be concerned about the food and restrooms. Being stuck in an Indian Railways train for a long distance travel can be quite daunting. If you are travelling alone, it may not be very enjoyable. Sitting with strangers and having nothing to do can be extremely boring.

To make the journey less daunting and more enjoyable, we have certain ideas that can help. After booking your online train ticket, you will have to make arrangements for your travel. These ideas mentioned below will help you make the most of your journey.

· If the train journey is really long, you can carry one of your favourite books to read. With technology in our lives, we hardly get time to read books. A train journey will allow you the best opportunity to catch up with your reading skills. If you are not into novels, you can read comic books instead.

· It can be very therapeutic to look outside the carriage doors or windows when the train is moving. You will absolutely fall in love with the mind blowing landscapes that our country has to offer.

· If you call yourself a talkative person, you will love socializing with the people sitting around you. Talk to your travel companions and know about their stories in the process. You will be amazed to see how people are different from each otherwith respect to language, culture, age, and so on.

· If you are following a specific diet, it is important that you bring your food along with you. Most long distance trains provide food, but some may be sceptical about its quality. In that case you can carry foods like sandwiches and boiled eggs that will not get spoiled easily. Now-a-days you can also order food from several websites offering food delivery services. Make prior payments if you want to order from these websites.

· You will require cash when you are travelling in a long distance train. There will be several drinks and food vendors boarding the train. You might have to get down at the station at times.Naturally, your credit and debit cards won’t work anywhere. Hence, be at the safe side by carrying sufficient amount of cash and change.

· It is surprising to see that people love to sleep early in trains. As there is nothing much to do, people go to bed right after they are done with dinner. Hence, be prepared to find people retiring 9.30 p.m. onwards.

· Being a light sleeper, you might have trouble falling asleep in a train. Hence don’t forget to carry headphones or earplugs. If you are unlucky, you might encounter a loud snorer in your compartment. At such instances, your earplugs will come handy.

· 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. is the time when train bathrooms are extremely busy. Therefore, you can either wake up early or sleep late to avoid being a part of the rush. If your concern is cleanliness, it is better to be first.
