Hilly Abodes of India


Hill stations are always peaceful as one reaches to the lap of nature. From iced tipped peaks to winding roads and lush greeneries around or white snowflakes in winter hill stations have it all.

The hill station stories in India are serene and it has Himalayas, Nilgiris and Western Ghats which makes this country full of beautiful and quiet hill stations and one can run away from the daily chores of life and breathe peacefully there for a few days.

Here are a few options which are unique places on their own ways and one should definitely take a trip to these places.

Sattal, Uttarakhand: This is a beautiful place in the district of Nainital in Uttarakahnd. As the name goes by, this place is a cluster of seven lakes and this place has lush green forests along with winding hilly roads. One can spend a couple of days in peace here, away from the crowd and can have a lovely conversation with nature which they are going to enjoy the most. Fishing and kayaking are also some activities they can do here.

Kasar Devi , Uttarakhand: A village which is located near Almora and it is also known as the Hippie Hill or Crank’s Ridge. This is a place which has historical significance as in the Kasar Devi Temple during the time of Hippie movement in 60’s, people like Bob Dylan and Allen Ginsberg visited here.

Mcleodganj, Himachal Pradesh: If you are attracted to mountains and trekking is your thing, then invest all your youth energy into this brilliant mode of travelling. Go for a trek to Triund which is situated in Mcleodganj and one can get a magnificent view of Dhauladhar ranges from there. One can also go for camping there observing nights with clear skies full of stars which is a rare view in the cities.

Garhwal Himalayas: Once you reach the northern part of India it is actually a hub of adventure sports. This is a place where people come and live the adventures all by themselves. North India is a heaven by scenic beauty and it is a delight for the trekkers as one can take the route from Garhwal Himalayas or they can take the route from Bhrigu Trek to Rohtang Pass. The other popular trekking routes are to Pindari Glacier Trek. One can also trek to the Leh and Ladakh till the valley of flowers which is a paradise for those who loves flowers.

Chamban, Himachal Pradesh: This is also a very quiet abode situated in Himachal Pradesh. The snow tipped mountains and the lush greens welcome you there. Apart from the beautiful mountain view there are several apple orchards that add more to the scenario. The famous Chamunda Temple is located here. One can also visit the old Lakshmi Narayan Temple which was built during the 10th century in a Shikara style. The best time to visit this place is summer.

So, plan a trip to any of these serene places and spend some peaceful time in the lap of mountains.
